Meet Your Coaches: Angela Juang & David Wu

Hi! We’re the husband-and-wife coach team behind Become Your Best. Nice to meet you!

Over our 10+ years of professional experience in the tech industry, we’ve seen so many high-achieving, skillful professionals get burned out and discouraged as their careers have taken them farther and farther away from the lives they want to lead, the relationships they want to nurture, and who they aspire to be as people.

Our mission is to help you redefine your career to celebrate your unique blend of identity, values, and passions, so you can live a life you love and keep bringing your shine to the world.

Angela Juang

career & life Coach, former software engineer, baker

I love helping people discover how to pursue their passions while staying true to their values (which often include financial stability and responsibility!). We often believe that to be happy with one part of life, we must sacrifice another – but what if that weren’t true?

After graduating with a B.A. in Computer Science & Applied Math and a B.S. in Business Administration from UC Berkeley, I spent the first 10 years of my career putting my job as a software engineer first, being “always on”, and having little energy left for anything else. I believed that to live comfortably and have future opportunities, I had to give up the time I wished I could spend on creative hobbies and physical fitness. Years of that lifestyle burned me out, and over time, I became constantly unhappy and suffered from anxiety, unexplained nausea, and creative block.

Knowing something had to change, I followed my heart and took a leap into professional pastry and baking to rekindle my creative spirit and physical wellness. It felt refreshing to live a life that aligns with my whole self – and now, as a professional coach, I love helping others discover how to live their fullest lives as well.

I strive to support my clients through my own continued learning, and am proud to have earned certifications such as ICF Associate Certified Coach, Certified Professional Coach, Tiny Habits Certified Coach, and Thrive Certified Coach. I’m honored to work with clients on their success, wellness, and satisfaction in all aspects of life.

David Wu, Career & Life Coach

David Wu

career & life Coach, software engineering manager, woodworker

I started my journey at UC Berkeley, where I earned a B.A. in Computer Science. After graduating, I traveled south to UCLA for a M.S. in Artificial Intelligence, and then came back to the Bay Area to begin working as a software engineer.

I became a manager early on in my career because I found that I love working with people, connecting with them on a personal level, and helping them achieve their unique goals and aspirations. I believe that healthy and happy individuals are the key to creating the most fun, productive, and effective teams. As a manager, I’ve used my people-focused approach to lead diverse and internationally distributed teams filled with enjoyment and empathy, where people can celebrate their differences and leverage their unique strengths.

I truly feel that we are the most energized and enlightened when we are able to live life by our own definitions of success. We are so much more than the words used in job descriptions, interview questions, or promotion criteria!

My mission is to empower leaders (yes, that’s you!) so they can, in turn, naturally and sustainably empower the people around them. I also want us to have fun and enjoy the process along the way!

If you’re looking to achieve a clear vision of yourself in the role you aspire to be in, take the leap on a career change, or structure your days to focus on what you really care about, I’m here to help! Let’s talk!
